Falconry Experience

It is so great to do something a little different sometimes and for us it was playing with bit birds!!
I booked a Falconry Experience in Manchester and it was fantastic! I have always wanted to get up close with these birds and to get the chance was just amazing. We took my mum along and she was on baby sitting duties but the hour went by so fast.

I have total respect for birds of prey.

It's gonna be so great when Eden gets older and I can show her these pictures and tell her all about the majestic birds and how brave dad was holding the biggest bird. If she is anything like me she will love nature and hopefully, we can take her back there and she can try it out for herself... I am sure she will be brave enough to hold the "big" bird too.

Mamas and Papas

Eden has a fitting next week for Mamas & Papas and we are so excited!
For those who aren't familiar, a fitting is where you go and try some outfits on and if they (hopefully) fit her she should get the booking for a photoshoot with them!!

As always I am very proud.

Let's just see if that big belly let's her down :o)

Cuddles

Feels like we hit a pleasant change recently with Eden. She has really started liking people other than her Dad, Nan and I and it's lovely.

For so long it felt like we had to tread on egg shells where other people where concerned because she was just not into them at all but  think since she started her taster sessions at the new nursery something has clicked into place and she is great.

We had a lovely time in Liverpool meeting some friends and because she was being so nice and friendly it was so special. She hasn't seen our friend Lindsey very often but she just latched on to her and it was so cute. I could tell was so chuffed about it too.

Eden's Photography

My mum has given eden her very first camera. it is a cheap little digital number that holds about 25 pictures but I swear you would think we had given her a 50ft high teddy bear. She walked around all afternoon squinting to look through the viewfinder, obviously been watching me!!

I am going to keep these and show them to her when she is older :o)

Ok, so I took the last 2 :o)

Role Play

I find it hilarious watching Eden play with her dolls and teddys and what not. Isn't it funny how as they grow their toy preferences change and now she has a toy box full of stuff she doesn't even touch.

However  give her a buggy and she is amused for hours.

I need ideas for toys suitable for a 19 month old. I sold a few of her baby toys and with the money bought her a toy guitar, a robot and a word game thing but she seems uninterested in them and I cannot read books to her every hour of the day so I'm a bit stuck at the moment :o)

19 month portraits

A little over a week late with these, and they are certainly less than perfect but there is something about these that I love.

She is talking up a storm right now and turning into more of a little girl every day. The baby chubbyness (is that a word?) is fading now and I am missing it already, although I'm loving my little girl who likes to pretend to wear mums makeup, has her own accessories and gets excited about wearing her new shoes.

A new beginning

We have pulled Eden out of her nursery.

Without going into too much detail here, it was just that gut feeling that things weren't quite right coupled with issues that have been recently raised. I am trying not to be bitter about it all and just move on.

Thankfully I managed to get her a place at a fantastic nursery. It is run by a young couple who have 4 children of their own and it has only been open for 9 months. They seems really positive and focused on getting the very best out of your child with lot's of child reviews, feedback, great facilities etc.. I think she will love it. For anyone who is interested you can check it out HERE

So today we met a friend and her super cute daughter at a soft play place and it was FUN!! Eden had a good 2 hours of freedom and was in a tip top mood so it was really enjoyable. We agreed we should get together and do it more. I think sometimes we get so caught up in day to day activities that we forget to just do fun things. We will definately make it a more regular thing.

So Eden has this real issue at the moment with sharing stuff, which I know all toddlers go through at some stage but it is bad. She slapped a little boy because he stood near the ball pit she was in. How do you deal with that? I still at times get stuck on how to deal with a toddler in a way that she understands, it is hard sometimes. Well I got down on her level and said firmly that it was naughty and don't hurt him -  I think she got it, well I think she got the tone of voice cos she went all serious. It feels weird trying to show authority when your usually a bit of a joker. I guess it's something we will work on.

Snaps of the day's festivities

Before and After and a freebie!

I am so thankful for Photoshop Actions!!!

It isn't too difficult to take half decent looking portraits at home if you know a little bit about Photoshop.

Well, I don't have a ton of followers on my blog but I am grateful to anyone who takes the time to read regularly, so if you would like me to transform one of your home pictures into something a bit more special then comment below and if I receive a couple of responses I will choose 1 at random in a weeks time.

An average Wednesday

Wednesday's are usually a bit busy for us. Up early with Eden, breakfast, bath, play, lunch, take to nursery (hopefully nap on the way), go to work myself for the afternoon.

The best thing about Wednesday is it's the end of my working week.

This is what her hair usually looks like when she gets home from nursery.

After a busy Wednesday I think we will be chillin tomorrow.
