Wednesday in Snapshots

Sometime it's just so handy having a mobile camera when I don't have the SLR with me.
On Wednesday afternoon we went to the local park, it was really hot again so the idea of a picnic was a bit ill thought we were boiling!

Eden has started showing a real interest in nature now, birds, flowers, it all excites her and it is so sweet. It's mad the way they start to randomly do new things, her speech is coming along really well at the moment and she is picking up words quite quickly.

Some of the new words she is now saying:

shoes
socks
pig *imitates*
elephant *imitates*
bye bye
hiya
what's that
look at that

I love her cute little voice!

Norton Priory

Last day of the loooong bank holiday weekend today so we made the most of it and headed on out to Norton Priory and it was a lot of fun!

The weather held together and Eden had a great time exploring the grounds and gardens. It was really pretty and peaceful and you could easily spend a few hours just chillin in the gardens. I love that now she is walking we can do more activities and just let her be free.

Talking of being free, wow these toddler's do have a mind of their own. She has really started fighting us when we try to put her back in her pram, arching her back and screaming. I really admire this sense of defiance.

Back to work tomorrow, but thankfully a 3 day working week for my husband this week due to the extra day of for Friday's Royal Wedding.

Easter

Today was nice.

Eden was up early and she must have thought it was such a treat getting to eat chocolate before breakfast. We played in the yard, cleaned up then Eden took a 2 hour nap. I'm grateful that I got to have a little sleep too for an hour or so, although I could have had more.

We took an impromptu trip to the park this afternoon and it was really hot but that didn't stop Eden having a good play. We had to take her out - she seems to sleep better when she has been on her feet a lot throughout that day and we had a bad night with her waking up last night.

Happy Easter!

Southport

Today was soooo hot. I think it was a bit of a shock to this system, and although Eden was wearing light weight cotton clothes I think she still felt a bit uncomfortable. She was in a bad mood today and, to be honest  wasn't in the best of moods myself.

Well we had a little day out with friends and Eden is usually great on days out but not today. She was tired and cranky all day long and I have to admit it got to me a little. At least she had a little freedom to walk around and explore and that perked her up a little, but wow the sun was really beating down on us.

I think because we were with people today I just wanted to show her off and say (in my mind) "see what a happy child I have" - silly I know, cos why should I even need to think that when where with friends who we have known forever. I guess it is just pride y'no. What do I expect, she is a toddler and they don't just perform on demand or be happy because you want them to do they.

Anyhow, now that she is walking one of her favourite things to do is hold our hand while we walk *slowly* but, god help you if you try to steer her in a different direction because that is a screaming fit right there.

I love the sense of individuality, how unpredictable motherhood is, and how you just have to let them be. I feel like we are learning something every day.

Sunny Days

We've had some lovely gorgeous sunny weather this week, and if you live in England you will know how rare that is! Well always one to make the most of a situation we have been chillaxin in nan's garden, preparing our yard for Summer, and enjoying general loveliness in the form of little days out. It has been bliss... and now it is Easter so w have a few work free days to enjoy family time. I love it.

Eden is a fully fledged walker now and I love it. So many people have said to me "Enjoy her none walking phase because it is hard when they walk" - well, I have to say I am enjoying her walking waaaaay more than when she was crawling. She has been so happy since she has been walking which I think is partly down to not being frustrated anymore and it is a real novelty for her to be able to walk with us when were out. I think she feels all grown up.

Today:

Tomorrow we go to Southport for the day, did I mention I love the sun :)
