Our London weekend

Well were back!

So much fun was had as we spent the weekend in London visiting my husbands family as it was Eden's cousin Lillie's second birthday. It was great because we also got to meet the new addition to the family baby Ellie :o) The 3 little girls; Eden, Lillie and Ellie only have 2 years between the 3 of them so I am sure they will be great friends as they grow up.

As London is a 4 hour drive away I was a little worried that Eden would get bored on the journey but she did well and slept for a lot of the way.

From suck to cup

We have been introducing a cup to Eden's bedtime routine over the past few nights and it's going ok. 

She has been using her sippy cup and straw cup for ages through the day for her water but up until now her milk has been in a bottle.

Well Eden your a big girl now so no more bottles for you!

Breaking News

So no picture/video evidence as of yet but Eden only went and took her first step's tonight.

New Pushchair

Yipeee we have a new pushchair for Eden :o)

I have wanted one for ages. Since the tyre bust on her original Quinny pushchair I made do with a cheapo buggy which has been great for a good few months. Well one of the tyre areas has gone rusty and she is looking a bit big for it now so we invested in the Graco Mirage pushchair. I'm really happy with it because we got an ex display model in perfect condition at half price and it has a full recline which I am sure she will love.

I swear she will sit/lie and do this for an hour if I let her, which when I need a moment I often do :o)

In other news, I am sick. I don't just mean  have a sniffle sick - but full blown "please feel sorry for me" sick, but if you know my husband, you will know that he doesn't do sympathy so I just have to get on with it!

Well I sent Eden to nursery this morning and spent a lot of the day in bed totally wiped out with this flu. I hate it because it has meant being off work today and I have already had to take too much time off work with Eden's sickness - so I feel a bit bad about that. I have to be well for Wednesday as we have tickets to go and see Derren Brown at the Liverpool Empire and as Andy kindly informed me "he won't want me coughing and spluttering all the way through it" - nice. :o)

Nap Time

I have to admit, the past week or so Eden's nap's have been all over the place. I didn't plan for it to be like this but we have been using the Ferber Method to try and get Eden to sleep through the night and some nights are better than others.

So last night wasn't a good one as she woke at about 11.30pm and didn't get to sleep until about 2.30am ish. Those nights are hard.

Well as you can imagine a tired Eden is not a happy one and she had been cranky all day. She managed a 50 minute nap in the morning while we were out and then fell asleep on my lap at about 4.30pm. I would never normally let her sleep so late in the afternoon but to be honest I was tired and feeling a bit unwell, and I wanted a quiet moment myself!

It's great until she wakes up all disorientated and cranky... I should not have let her nap so late...

After her hour long nap she stayed up until 9.15pm which is a big disruption to her usual strict 7pm bedtime - but although I was sick we actually had fun and she went down without a problem. I am hoping she sleeps through tonight but lets see.

Purchases

I got Eden some great bargains today from MandCo

Seriously, I had never even heard of this place but they had some really cute outfits and I got some bargains.

this one was from H&M and adorable!!

I am already buying her things for Summer even though it seems a long way off but I can feel Spring in the air and it is brightening up a little. I love that we live over the road from a nice big park and I cannot wait to get out more!

I got her the tunic (middle pic) for a birthday party we were meant to be going to tomorrow but the little girl has chickenpox so we had to cancel, but she can wear it when we got to London next week.

I love how her personality floods out of these pictures..

Today was a good day.

We had playgroup and I was happy to see Eden mixing well and not just clinging to my leg all morning. We have been going for the last few weeks and she was a bit unsure at first and wanted me constantly by her side. It doesn't help when she wants me to walk her around everywhere. It's like she want to mix and play but only with me by her side.

Today was different though, as Eden was much happier mixing and she didn't really have any meltdowns however she did slap a little boy (we will just gloss over that little hiccup!)

She did sleep pretty well last night, on her own, in her cot from 7pm - 6.40am which is not bad going at all. I keep meaning to write a blog about her sleep which has really improved as of late, but I will do that tomorrow.

Anyway, I think the good sleep helped today and even when we came home she was up for a laugh.. and for some reason my daughter loves cushions?? Piling them on top of each other, knocking them down, hiding behind them. Must be great for a kid when you can make anything into a toy.

Tomorrow we go shopping..
